On 3rd April 2024, staff at our Cheadle office took part in the inaugural ‘Great Cheadle Bake Off’ by bringing in sweet treats for their colleagues to devour and then vote on.
Our three finalists were Sharon Saunders with her ‘Raspberry Ripple Surprise’ (the surprise being that, contrary to appearances, it hadn’t been dropped on the floor), Liz Tappin’s Chocolate and Biscuit cake, and Emily Whitehurst – who came in to the office especially on her day off, with daughter and guest judge Penny in tow – bringing a delicious Carrot and Walnut cake as their entry.
And it was ultimately Emily who walked away with the trophy, kindly donated by event organiser Jackie Chambers.
